Mediation Experience and Training
Jean-Paul Menard began his mediation practice in 2008. Since then, Mr. Menard has dedicated a significant amount of his time mediating real estate, employment, business, commercial, partnership/corporate and unfair competition disputes. Mr. Menard retired from his law practice and became a full-time mediator in March 2025.
Mr. Menard is certified to conduct mediations by the Los Angeles County Bar Association and is a mediation panelist for the American Arbitration Association, the California Association of Realtors, and the United States District Court, Central District of California.
Mr. Menard has participated in numerous mediation training courses and seminars since 2007, including mediation training programs offered by the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Southern California Mediation Association (SCMA), the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law, USC Gould School of Law, the United States District Court and the California Association of Realtors. Mr. Menard has been a member of SCMA since 2008.
Legal Background
Mr. Menard has 40 years of complex litigation experience at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts involving a variety of disputes including breach of contract, business torts, employment, real estate, partnership/corporate and unfair competition related claims. In addition, Mr. Menard’s legal practice included the negotiation and documentation of business and commercial agreements, and general legal counseling to clients on various employment, commercial and other business issues.
Employment and Educational Background, and Professional Affiliations
Mr. Menard was a partner with the law firm of Brown White & Osborn LLP in Los Angeles from February 2019 to February 2025. Before joining Brown White & Osborn, Mr. Menard practiced law at his own firm, the Law Office of Jean-Paul Menard (2008-2019). He was also a partner at the law firms of McKenna Long & Aldridge, LLP, in Los Angeles (1997-2008) (now part of Dentons US), and Stephens Berg & Lasater, in Los Angeles (1986-1997); and an associate with the law firm of Munns Kofford Hoffman Hunt & Throckmorton, in Pasadena (1984-1986).
Mr. Menard received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1984 from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree graduating magna cum laude from the California State University, Northridge in 1981. Mr. Menard is a member of the California State Bar, and the Southern California Mediation Association.
